How to See Who Doesn't Follow You Back Using Your Instagram Export
Follower comparison is one of the obvious reasons people download an Instagram export. It is also where shady tools love to ask for passwords. DataUnpacker does it from the official export instead: no login, no live account access, and no pretending the snapshot is more powerful than it is.
Quick answer
Request an all-time Instagram export with followers and following included, open it in DataUnpacker, then use the Connections tab to see who does not follow you back, who you do not follow back, mutuals, deleted accounts, and related follow lists.
Get the right follower data
For this page, completeness matters more than anything. If Instagram lets you choose categories, include followers and following. If it lets you choose a date range, use all time.
Follower and following lists are snapshots. They represent what Meta put in the export at the time it was prepared, not a live account check.
Use the Connections tab
After the export opens, go to Connections. DataUnpacker compares the exported followers list with the exported following list and builds practical lists from that pair.
- Doesn't follow you back: accounts you follow that are not in the followers list.
- You don't follow back: accounts following you that are not in your following list.
- Mutuals: accounts found in both lists.
- Deleted accounts and smaller lists: extra relationship files Meta includes in some exports.
Do not treat it like live tracking
This is the honest trade-off: because the comparison uses an official export, you do not need to hand over your Instagram password. But because it uses an export, it is not real-time monitoring.
If someone followed or unfollowed after the export was prepared, the page will not know. If the export was date-limited or missing files, the comparison can be wrong.
Look beyond the simple list
The more interesting question is not just who follows who. DataUnpacker can also show follow eras, people you engage with but do not follow, and people you follow but do not seem to engage with in the exported activity records.
A useful kind of messy
This is where export data feels less like an admin file and more like a private social map. Just remember that the map is built from the records Instagram gave you, not from a live scan of profiles.
Fun things to try
- Check the list you expected, then check the list that surprises you.
- Look at your biggest follow year and see if it lines up with school, work, a hobby, or a very specific phase.
- Find accounts you like or comment on but somehow never followed.
- Use privacy mode before showing the list to anyone else.
Limits to remember
- This does not log in to Instagram or monitor unfollows live.
- The result is only as complete as the export.
- Private, deleted, renamed, or unavailable accounts can appear oddly depending on what Meta included.
- If follower insight counts disagree with the follower list, the viewer warns that the list may be incomplete.
