Google Takeout hub

Open a full Google Takeout export without making the browser chew through every byte. Start with archive coverage and My Activity insights, then use the coverage map to decide which service tab comes next.

Parsing runs in your browser. Privacy mode masks activity text, URLs, hosts, file paths, and location hints for screen sharing.

The parser indexes large ZIPs first and inflates only the files each tab needs. Photos media stays deferred, Drive is summarised from its file list without opening any file, and Gmail is read as headers only unless you opt in to order totals.

Getting the export

  1. Open takeout.google.com and create a Google Takeout export. Choose .zip as the file type (not .tgz)
  2. Download every ZIP part Google gives you for that request
  3. Select all ZIP parts here together
  4. Start with the Overview, Coverage, and My Activity tabs

Takeout indexer

multi-part ZIPs, coverage, and My Activity

local

Built for huge exports

ZIPs are indexed from their central directory. The viewer reads Photos metadata without opening media for display; Drive is summarised from the file list alone, and the Gmail mailbox is streamed once for headers only (message text is read only if you opt in to order totals later).

Part 2 scope

This live Google pass parses My Activity for about 28 services (Search, Chrome, YouTube, Maps, Play Store, Play Games, Shopping, and more), plus Gemini conversations.

What you get

What the Google viewer shows

Archive coverage

Indexes each ZIP part, groups files by Google product, and shows what is parsed, deferred, unsupported, or still waiting for a later tab.

My Activity

Parses My Activity for about 28 services (Search, Chrome, YouTube, Maps, Play Store, Play Games, Shopping, and more), with Gemini conversations in their own tab.

Huge-file safety

Reads ZIP central directories and selected entries instead of inflating Photos media or Drive files, and streams the Gmail mailbox through once for headers only (order emails are read for totals only if you choose to).

Privacy mode

Masks activity titles, search terms, URLs, product paths, hosts, and location hints while keeping useful aggregate counts visible.

FAQ

Google export questions

Can I upload a full multi-part Google Takeout export?

Yes. Select every ZIP part from the same Takeout request together. The viewer indexes each ZIP part and only inflates the supported files it needs.

Does it parse Gmail, Drive, and Photos yet?

Partly. Gmail is scanned for headers only (senders, timing, subscriptions, account footprint). Message text is read only if you opt in, and then only the order and receipt emails, to estimate what you spent. Photos is read from its metadata files. Drive is summarised from its file list (names, sizes, and dates) with no file opened, and photo and video files stay in coverage without being opened.

Why does My Activity warn about timestamps?

Takeout HTML activity files use timezone abbreviations without an offset. The viewer keeps the exported wall-clock time consistent for charts, but exact UTC conversion is not guaranteed.
